EMDR. CBT. EFT. SFBT. Think of these common therapy styles as instruments in an orchestra. While each one sounds great on its own – the real magic happens when a composer brings them together to create a symphony.
Therapy is like a symphony of styles – all coming together to help you feel better.
If you have a preference for a specific New York online therapy style, we can use that exclusively. Otherwise, we will mix and match our “instruments” to create a customized treatment plan with one goal … helping you live a life you love.
At We Rise, our specialties include:
When a trauma or unsettling event occurs, the human brain often has trouble finding the “right place” to store the memory. This leads you to relive or ruminate over the experience ad infinitum.
EMDR uses a mix of rapid eye movement, bilateral stimulation, EFT tapping, and lights to help your brain make sense of this jumble of misplaced memories.
Unlike traditional therapy, EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about a distressing issue or reliving traumatic events.
Instead, we let your body serve as a guide to help find trapped and unsettling memories.
Because EMDR works with the subconscious, it generally gets faster results than other methods — especially when treating trauma and PTSD.
Where do your beliefs and convictions come from? Are they rooted in reality or are they a construct of your mind? Often, our reactions and responses to everyday triggers come from a place of internal misinformation. Put simply, your brain is lying to you.
CBT therapy helps your mind find the facts behind the fiction. We start by asking, “is there evidence to support this thought or belief?” If not, it is time to rewrite your story and create a new chapter in your life.
Together, we will reprogram your mind and body to notice, interrupt, and change the patterns holding you back.
At We Rise, our CBT toolbox includes mindfulness, sensory meditation, somatic experiencing, and other techniques for creating long-lasting change in your life.
It sounds too good to be true. Just focus on a negative thought, tap your hand over various meridian points on your body, and your stress levels instantly decrease. Yet, that’s exactly what happens with EFT therapy.
EFT combines the ancient principles of acupressure and energy lines with modern psychology to bring balance to your mind and body.
Also known as Tapping, EFT can be used at any time to quickly regulate your nervous system and move past big feelings and emotions.
In addition to being a powerful standalone technique, EFT Tapping is a perfect complement to all the other types of therapy offered at We Rise. Plus, once you know the technique, you can even do it yourself. It truly is a tool for life.
The average person has 70,000 thoughts per day. Of that, 95% are subconscious … which means your brain is essentially running on autopilot. Decisions. Actions. Emotions. Behaviors. All operating just out of your control.
Left unchecked, your mind does not distinguish between real and imagined reality. It tells you the same old story – rejecting all evidence to the contrary. Your brain also ignores the word “don’t,” which is why you keep doing exactly what you “don’t want to do.”
Subconscious reprogramming gets you back in the driver’s seat. It replaces thoughts, unsticks trauma, decreases depression, regulates your nervous system, stops the cycle of fear, and helps you consciously create your reality.
