Think of me as a problem solver.

You are the guide when it comes to our time together. I am here to serve as a hands-on mentor. To support your growth with compassion, warmth, and a curiosity to go deeper.

If you are looking for someone to just sit there, nod their head, take notes, and reflect your words back to you, then you have come to the wrong place.

My approach to therapy is solutions-focused and direct. That means I ask a lot of questions and help provide the motivation you may need for change.

The main guiding principle that governs my work is establishing a sense of safety and trust. I create a non-judgmental space for you to vent, process, and unload anything and everything that may be transpiring.

I am inspired by your transformation

There is a moment in the therapy process when it all clicks. When you surprise yourself by seeing life in a new light. When you try something that previously seemed insurmountable. These are moments to celebrate.

Sometimes, the celebration shows up as a twinkle in your eye. Or, as a grin of pride on your face. Finally, you realize what you are capable of achieving. You are ready to turn all those plans and ideas into actions and accomplishments.

For me, being present for that moment is the most rewarding part of being a psychotherapist.

Clinical Experience

Life’s journey often takes surprising twists and turns. After feeling unfulfilled in my first career, I began taking elective psychiatry courses. That’s where I became fascinated by the human mind and the behavior it produces.

In the decades since, I have collaborated with numerous organizations as a way of giving back to the community. These include:

  • NYU Health Care Outpatient Center — providing group and individual counseling with a focus on co-occurring disorders.
  • The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island — providing trauma-informed care to clients impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
  • Brooklyn Women’s Counseling Services — providing counseling to women and children.
  • Outpatient OASIS-Managed Facility — serving as a Quality Control Supervisor.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University
  • PhD in Marriage & Family Therapy at Amridge University (in progress)
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York
  • Level-I Certified Individual Trauma Specialist (CCTS-I)
  • Level-II Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP-II)
  • EMDR Certified Therapist
